Lake Erie College
Ellen Spencer Mussey and Emma Gillett, who attended Lake Erie College (Lake Erie Female Seminary) in 1870 and 1865-66 respectively, paved the way for women in the legal profession through the founding of the Washington College of Law.
Kayla Clark is a sophomore at Lake Erie College and majoring in history. In addition to this article, she also authored our extended trading card narratives on Mussey and Gillett, and developed a scrapbook of historical newspaper clippings and photographs for her Rhetoric of Women's Rights class.
